Hello and welcome to the JT-IRC Support site - In cooperation with the TalkTull Discussion List.

This website is devoted to the #jethrotull IRC channel used by Jethro Tull fans, young and old.  If you are new to IRC (Internet Relay Chat), there are many good sites on IRC setup, commands and IRC in general.  The purpose of this site is to help you set up and configure your IRC client (IRC software) to connect to the IRC network below and join in on the chat in the #jethrotull channel (chat room).  If you do not want to download and install an IRC client, there is also a link to the JT-IRC Java Chat portal, in which you can use your web browser to chat.  Web-TV users are not left behind either - Instructions for setting up WebTV are are on this site also.  But before we get into that, there are a few things that you should know first.
TalkTull mailing list!
First, Ravenshorn is not pronounced ravens-horn. It is pronounced raven-shorn.
Now that we have that straight... :)

Scheduled chats:
Every Monday 8:00 PM EST (5:00PM PST, 1:00AM GMT)
Every Saturday 10:00AM EST (7:00AM PST, 3:00PM GMT)
There is usually someone broadcasting music for the Tull chats.  You must have Winamp, RealPlayer, or a recent version of Windows Media Player to listen in.  Ask for the broadcast URL in the channel.
(We don't necessarily broadcast Tull all the time, but if you like Tull, chances are you'll like the stuff we broadcast...)

Eezy access to the chat:  To access AfterNet, type /server irc.afternet.org in the editbox of your irc client. Then type /join #jethrotull to get to the chatroom.  You can also access the chat via the
JT-IRC Java Chat Portal

Clients
Don't have an IRC program installed?  You can get mIRC or Pirch for Windows, or Ircle, AthenaIRC or Snak for the MacIntosh.
You can also check out the downloads area for a version of mIRC already configured for the JT-irc networks and chock full of scripts, sounds, etc., just for #jethrotull chatters!

Java
Chat
You can access the #jethrotull channel via the JT-IRC Java Chat Portal.  This access method uses your web browser, so that you don't have to download and install a separate chat client (There are limitations, however - For instance, no file-sharing capabilities).  Once there, you can use either the full page portal or a pop-up chat window.

WebTV
Access
Got WebTV?  To access IRC using WebTV go here for instructions.
